Versailles in dreams ("Versailles des songes")
For the King, Versailles was a seat of power and a place to live. For his courtiers it was either heaven or hell, an island in the midst of Europe and the world. The revolution destroyed this way of life. The wounds from that time have healed to leave a place of history and dreams.  The lower classes from elsewhere trample the floorboards of royalty, admire designers' talents and attempt to relive the illusion... Royalty's flagship was saved from ruin by peasants, the Republic and patrons who unite around this object that is unique in the world.

Flowers, statues, architecture and skies reinforce the outlines of loose compositions. For Thierry samuel, it is a place where dreams slide on the randomness of light.

Exhibition and online vernissage
Following "Steps and clicks", this second exhibition renews the experience of the online vernissage. On the author's Facebook page and Twitter account, the guests can exchange comments with the photographer on Tuesday 17th on June, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

About Thierry SAMUEL
Thierry Samuel has been a french photographer for over 40 years ; His form of expression can be defined as close to 'poetic realism'.
He is now exposing 4 decades of photographs on the website thierrysamuel.com. His production started in the 1970s. There remains only a few archives from this era, misplaced during various moves : a few images of the Halles de Baltard and a few negatives of singers Claude François and Charles Aznavour rehearsing at Studio 101 in Paris. On the other hand, from the 1980s onwards, everything has been entirely conserved and is fully available. Starting in the 2000s digital runs alongside film photography without ever overtaking it. Very attached to the average format technique in black and white, digital comes more as an instinctive gesture, of fleeting images in colour. (read the complete biography by clicking here)
